Cervical Screening
Book your appointment when you are not having a period, including the two days before and after bleeding where possible. Avoid sexual intercourse for 24 hours and avoid vaginal medicines, lubricants, creams or pessaries for 48 hours before the appointment. Please tell the clinic before attending if you may be pregnant, have recently given birth, have unusual bleeding or discharge, have a pelvic infection, or have recently undergone a gynaecological procedure. Wear comfortable clothing such as a skirt, dress or long top if preferred.

Private cervical screening, previously called a smear test, checks the health of the cervix and helps identify high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV), which can cause abnormal cervical cell changes. A small sample is gently collected from the cervix by an appropriately trained healthcare professional and sent to an accredited laboratory for analysis.
This service is suitable for people who are due or overdue for screening, are not currently eligible through the NHS, prefer a private appointment or would like more flexibility and privacy. Cervical screening is a preventative test and is not a test to diagnose cervical cancer."
