This scan is suitable when both legs are swollen, painful or clinically indicated for assessment. It may also be requested where symptoms are unclear or where a clinician has advised a bilateral venous Doppler ultrasound.

Please seek urgent care if you have chest pain, breathlessness, coughing blood or sudden severe symptoms. This bilateral DVT Doppler scan assesses both legs where symptoms affect both sides or where a clinician has advised a two-leg assessment.
