"This blood test measures the amount of iron in your blood and helps assess how well your body is storing and using iron. It is commonly used to investigate symptoms such as tiredness, weakness, or pale skin, and to help diagnose iron deficiency or iron overload when interpreted alongside other iron studies.

Preparation: Morning fasting sample preferred. Avoid iron supplements that morning unless advised."
