Preparation for scan

We recommend that you fast at least 4 hours (ideally 6) prior to this scan – it is possible that some organs are not visible due to overlying bowel gas, which fasting helps to prevent. If your dietary requirements or health prevent you from fasting, please let us know. For pelvic ultrasound examination we recommend attending with a full bladder for scan (1 litre fluid 1 hour before scan time).
