First Trimester Early Pregnancy Reassurance Scan

We offer reassurance scans as early as 6 weeks into pregnancy. Although most pregnancies progress smoothly, some can be complicated by pain, early pregnancy bleeding, or ectopic implantation. In some cases, miscarriage may sadly occur. Early ultrasound scanning helps detect these issues promptly, offering clarity and peace of mind during the first trimester.

As experts in early pregnancy scans, our experienced sonographers perform both trans-abdominal and trans-vaginal ultrasounds, depending on your stage of pregnancy. While most scans are carried out over the tummy, some early pregnancy cases benefit more from a trans-vaginal scan, which provides clearer imaging and faster reassurance. This method helps detect concerns such as ectopic pregnancy with greater accuracy.

Your sonographer will explain the process and recommend the best approach based on your needs. After the scan, you’ll receive a detailed ultrasound report along with three printed images of your baby to take home.
